A themed retail entertainment development that creates an
engaging environment for visitors, within the context of
Frankenmuth, Michigan; a Bavarian themed community.
The exterior public spaces are shaped to gently move
people through a sequence of experiences while passing
them by the 32 unique shops that occupy the ground floor
of the buildings.
These public outdoor spaces provide a space for visitors to
relax, enjoy the sense of a village environment, and
experience the sense of discovery as they move through
the place. This public / private project included river
front improvements along the Cass River.
A pedestrian bridge, riverboat dock, fully
accessible path, and a waterfall were
constructed using a $2.7 million clean
Michigan fund grant.
